Gut-brain axis

Have you ever experienced your gut health impacting your feelings and emotions? For example, when you experience constipation, you may feel your mind is not clear. On the other hand, when you have good bowel movements, you may feel your mind is clear and you may work well on the day. Gut health is so important to keep our mind and body healthy.

Poor gut health (e.g., irritable bowel syndrome: IBS) can be frequently reported among autistic people. Constipation could cause a foggy brain and overall poor physical and mental health. Eating fermented food regularly increases good bacteria in your gut and naturally heals conspitation. Kana can give a testimony on that as her constipation was healed and she started to experience good health since she started to eat koso-genmai (fermented brown rice)  and drink koso (enzyme) juice every day. Not for only autistic people, but for anyone, good gut health is essential for overall good health!

Japanese people have had the wisdom of eating fermented food from the old days: miso, shoyu (soy source), koji (mailted rice), nukazuke (pickled vegetables in fermented rice bran)...
